asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in view of the reduced interest offered on Government stock, he is proposing to take steps for a reduction in the rate of interest charged on Estate Duty?

I have noted the hon. and gallant Member's suggestion, and will bear it in mind in connection with the Budget of next year.
