asked Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer, How many Companies or Corporations have compounded under the 8th and following sections of "The Customs and Inland Revenue Act, 1887;" and, what is the amount of capital in respect of which such composition has been made?

Agreements for the composition of Stamp Duty on transfers and share warrants have been entered into with 9 Corporations and 15 Companies. The paid-up capital in respect of which such compositions have been made amounted in the case of the Corporations to £2,164,562, and in the case of the Companies to £8,780,719, or a total of £10,945,281.
