HC Deb 04 December 1888 vol 331 cc1023-4
MR. J. C. STEVENSON (South Shields)

asked the First Lord of the Treasury, Whether he is now prepared to name a suitable day for the second reading of the Sale of Intoxicating Liquors on Sunday Bill?

THE FIRST LORD (Mr. W. H. SMITH) (Strand, Westminster)

I hope it will be in my power to ask the House to place Friday, the 14th instant, at the disposal of the hon. Gentleman; but perhaps the hon. Gentleman would be so good as to repeat his Question on a later day.

MR. BRADLAUGH (Northampton)

asked, whether the right hon. Gentleman recollected the arrangements he had made in his favour for the same day?

MR. W. H. SMITH

I have borne that question in mind; and I will endeavour to give an opportunity for the Motion in the hon. Gentleman's name.

MR. J. C. STEVENSON

said, the arrangement was hardly suitable; but, at all events, he could not accept any later date than the 14th instant.
