THE MARQUESS OF HARTINGTONThe Suakin-Berber route has never been surveyed for the purposes of railway construction, and no estimate can be framed beyond the cost per mile of the permanent way, material, and plant. No definite date for the completion of the railway to Berber has yet been arrived at. It will depend on military contingencies, which cannot be foreseen.
