HC Deb 06 March 1857 vol 144 cc1943-4
MR. OTWAY

said, he wished to know if the Government were aware of the fact that numerous parties had claims on the State of Oude, what they intended to do with respect to those claims, and also whether there would be any objection to lay a list of those claims on the table of the House?

MR. VERNON SMITH

said, that he had not yet perused the despatches with regard to Oude, and was not, therefore, able to furnish a list of the creditors' claims upon it. He had, however, no objection to lay upon the table any papers which might throw light upon the subject.
