Definition

• Set up under Memorandum of Understanding between UK Government and devolved administrations in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland setting out principles underlying relations between them (Cm 5240). This committee considers the UK Government position on European Union issues which impinge on devolved responsibilities; implementation of EC law in different parts of the UK and considers disputes. Membership consists of Ministers from all 4 administrations, plus all Secretaries of State and is chaired by the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs.
