Made negative Report under section 22(2)(b) of the Public Service Pensions Act 2013 laid before the House of Lords

Instruments subject to the made negative procedure do not require approval in Parliament before becoming law. These instruments may come into force on any date after being laid. Instruments concerning taxation are not laid in the Lords. Either House may pass a motion within the objection period which annuls the instrument and stops it having effect.

The Government lays a statutory report under section 22(2)(b) of the Public Service Pensions Act 2013. The Department of Health and Social Care will provide a report that set out the reasons for changing the amount that members contribute to the NHS Pension Scheme or the desirability of not making any changes at this point in time.
