HL Deb 14 March 2005 vol 670 c113WA
Lord Lester of Herne Hill

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Further to the Written Answer by the Baroness Scotland of Asthal on 8 February (WA 102–103) concerning the use of intercept material in criminal proceedings, which of the countries' legal regimes are subject to constitutional guarantees equivalent to Article 6 of the European Convention on Human Rights. [HL1338]

Baroness Scotland of Asthal

The legal regimes of the Netherlands and France are subject to the European Convention on Human Rights. Australia and the US both have their own procedures for ensuring fair trials.
