Following the European Commission's refusal to pay the full amount claimed in compensation by the United Kingdom following the outbreak of foot and mouth disease in 2001, where the outstanding money will be sourced from. [HL360]

The control and eradication of foot and mouth disease in 2001 was paid for out of HM Treasury's contingency fund.
