§ Sandra Gidley
To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions what the cut-off date is for eligibility for the winter heating allowance; and whether he has any plans to change the eligibility criteria. [177563]

§ Malcolm Wicks
The cut off date for eligibility for the winter fuel payment is the last day of the third week in September each year, for the 2004–05 winter it is 26 September 2004. There are no current plans to change the eligibility criteria for winter fuel payments.
