§ Phil HopeStudent populations can bring real benefits to local neighbourhoods. However, universities and local authorities need to work together more closely to reduce potential problems in areas of high student populations. Last month we agreed to fund a project between Universities UK and the Local Government Association to improve the way that students are housed in local communities.
