The Planning Inspectorate serves The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM), the Welsh Assembly Government and other Government Departments by dealing with appeals, development plans and other casework under planning, housing, environment and allied legislation.

Its mission is: To use our impartial expertise in planning and land use to help shape well planned environments.
