Letter from Len Cook to Mr. Nigel Waterson, dated 28 April 2003: As National Statistician. I have been asked to reply to your Parliamentary Question about unemployment rates for men and women aged over 50. (110181) The unemployment rate for men aged 50 or over is 4.1 per cent and the unemployment rate for women aged 50 or over is 2.4 per cent. These estimates are from the Labour Force Survey, for the three month period ending February 2003, and are seasonally adjusted.
