HC Deb 06 November 2002 vol 392 cc381-2W
Jeff Ennis

To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, how many successful prosecutions have been made by local authority trading standards departments against licensees or landlords for delivering short measures in each of the last five years. [77570]

Miss Melanie Johnson

As a general rule, local authorities do not currently initiate prosecutions for short measure draught beer unless the deficiency exceeds 10 per cent. The Department is aware of 13 successful prosecutions over the last five tax years:

Year 1997–8 1998–9 1999–2000 2000–1 2001–2
