To ask the Secretary of State for Health what figures he has collated on the price paid in(a) the UK, (b) each other EU country, (c) the USA and (d) Japan for rcFVIII for the treatment of haemophiliacs. [22326]

Yvette Cooper

The current average price for a unit of Recombinant Factor 8 in England is approximately 58 pence, including value added tax. The approximate number of units used in the UK is estimated to be 110 million.

Information is not available regarding other European Union countries, the United States of America or Japan.
