To ask the Secretary of State for Health how many managerial staff are working in the NHS. [47652]

The number of managers working within the Hospital and Community Health Services (HCHS) of the NHS is shown in the table.

The annual Department of Health census of General and Personal Medical Services staff does not provide a breakdown of managerial staff.
