HC Deb 19 April 2002 vol 383 cc1204-5W
Mr. Bercow

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what assessment he has made of the cost-effectiveness of the Environment Act 1995 (Commencement No. 20 and Saving Provision) (Wales) Order 2001; and if he will make a statement. [51127]

Mr. Paul Murphy

The essential purpose of the Order was to bring into force, in Wales, the provisions of the Environment Act 1995 relating to the remediation of contaminated land. As such, and having regard to information I received from the National Assembly for Wales, I was satisfied that it raised no untoward financial implications.

The detailed implementation of these provisions is a matter for the National Assembly.

Mr. Bercow

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what assessment he has made of the cost-effectiveness of the Artificial Insemination of Cattle (Emergency Licences) (Wales) Regulations 2001; and if he will make a statement. [51128]

Mr. Paul Murphy

That is a matter for the National Assembly for Wales.
