To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Skills what is the average amount of funding per student received by(a) specialist schools and (b) community schools, in the current academic year. [8883]

[holding answer 19 October 2001]: Information about funding of pupils is not collected separately for specialist and community schools. Specialist schools receive additional grant of £123 per pupil per year up to 1,000 pupils and for pupil numbers above 1,200.
