§ Mr. Mike O'BrienOn 28 July 1999 I published my race equality employment targets for the recruitment, retention and career progression of minority ethnic staff within the Home Office and its service areas, that is, the police, the fire, the prison and the probation services.
The first annual report was published on 27 October 2000 and showed that the Home Office and its services are making good progress towards putting in place systems to deliver the sought outcomes by the end of the programme period.
