To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport how many(a) lacrosse, (b) ice hockey and (c) field hockey matches he has attended in an official capacity since May 1997. [134361]

My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State has not attended any of these events. I have accepted an invitation to attend the Women's Lacrosse World Cup to be held in High Wycombe next July. I have also attended the women's Olympic qualifying field hockey match between Great Britain and New Zealand on 28 March 2000 and the women's match between Great Britain and Argentina at the Sydney Olympics on 18 September 2000.
