HC Deb 30 October 2000 vol 355 c334W
Mr. Peter Ainsworth

To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport if the BBC's decision to move the BBC One evening news to 10 pm, together with consequent changes to the BBC One schedule, represents a material change under the terms set out in his Department's paper, 'BBC Public Services: Approvals'. [135700]

Mr. Chris Smith

No. Under the Charter and Agreement, the BBC is not required to seek my approval before it makes such scheduling changes.
