§ Mr. MeacherThe Government's objectives for the Sixth Conference of the Parties (COP6) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change were set out in the Deputy Prime Minister's reply of 14 November 2000 to the hon. Member for Scarborough and Whitby (Mr. Quinn) on 14 November 2000,Official Report, column 587W. The European Community and its member states adopt common negotiating positions for the purposes of UN FCCC meetings. The EU's position for COP6 was set out in Council Conclusions adopted on 8 November in my reply to my hon. Friend the Member for Aydesdale (Mr. Hood) of 15 November 2000, Official Report, column 659W. Many submissions on specific issues have been made by the EU, other countries and international organisations. Copies of key submissions are posted on the UN FCCC Secretariat's website (www.unfccc.de).
