§ Miss Melanie JohnsonThe Government announced in the Budget that the savings limit in the Minimum Income Guarantee will double next April from £3,000 to £6,000. Today the Secretary of State for Social Security is publishing a consultation document outlining plans for a Pension Credit from 2003 to reward low and modest income pensioners who have worked hard to save for their retirement.
