§ Mr. StringerWith effect from 7 August there will be three women Permanent Secretaries in the Civil Service which is 8 per cent. of the total. They are Rachel Lomax, Department of Social Security, Mavis McDonald, Cabinet Office and Juliet Wheldon, Treasury Solicitor, who is the first woman to occupy this post. No Permanent Secretary is from an ethnic minority background.
