§ Mr. StringerThe Cabinet Office Regulatory Impact Unit has been leading on the commitment in the Modernising Government White Paper to produce an integrated system of impact and appraisal tools in support of sustainable development. The Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions have been closely involved in this, for example running a pilot exercise to test the Policy Makers Checklist and contribute to proposals for an integrated approach to appraisal. DRTR will also be working with the Centre for Management and Policy Studies which has a remit to identify and promote best practice in policymaking.
