To ask the Secretary of State for Health what plans he has to control the cost and availability of generic drugs. [105508]

We are determined to ensure that the supply of generic medicines to the National Health Service is reliable and delivers value for money. We have put in place a fundamental review of the generic medicines market to consider how we can best achieve these and related objectives. The review is under way and conclusions are expected in the summer.
