Whether they have any plans to review, or increase from five, the number of specially trained Metropolitan Police officers within the "cab law enforcement section" at Scotland Yard who enforce existing minicab touting legislation within London. [HL2457]
§ Lord Williams of MostynThe enforcement of the relevant legislation, and the staffing of the Cab Enforcement Section in the Metropolitan Police are operational matters for the Commissioner. He tells me that enforcement is undertaken by other officers, in addition to the ones in the section, and that he has no plans at present to vary the establishment of the section.
