§ Clare ShortWorld Bank analysis demonstrates clearly that educating girls has major development impact. Our White Paper commits us to work to ensure that the international community achieves its agreed objective of securing quality primary education for all girls and boys by 2015. We have committed over £250 million to primary education partnerships with developing countries since 1997. These are designed to support and encourage these governments in prioritising spending on primary education.
