To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how much public money will be given(a) this year and (b) next year to (i) Provisional Sinn Fein and (ii) FACT and FAIR. [70055]

The information for the Northern Ireland Office and the Northern Ireland Departments is as follows

  1. (a)In 1998–99, Sinn Fein is expected to receive £42,000 as Party Allowance in carrying out Assembly duties; FAIR (Families Acting for Innocent Relatives) will receive £4,000 in financial support; FACT (Families Against Crime and Terrorism) will receive no public money.
  2. (b)No decisions have been taken on allocations for 1999–2000.
