§ Mr. BoatengEnforcement of road traffic law is an operational matter for chief officers of police and they decide how to allocate their funding. We do not provide policing funds specifically designated for speed enforcement cameras and there are no plans to do so under current arrangements. But on 9 December, the Chief Secretary to the Treasury announced criteria under which fine income might be used to finance specific projects. Additional funding for speed enforcement camera is being considered under those criteria.
