HC Deb 25 February 1999 vol 326 c405W
Mr. Corbyn

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions what representations have been received by his Department on the standard of service on the Northern Line of the London Underground; and if he will make a statement. [73155]

Ms Glenda Jackson

Over the last six months my Department has received a number of representations relating mainly to the standard of services on the Northern Line including 8 letters from Members of Parliament and 44 letters from the public.

Disruption on the Northern Line did increase over recent months; however when the new fleet of trains is in service, the reliability of the line should improve considerably. It is expected that a full Northern Line service will be provided completely by new trains by Autumn 1999.
