To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry to what extent the cost of board, lodging and similar incidentals is taken into account in the regulation of the terms and conditions applying to the employment of au pairs; and if he will make a statement. [71976]

Under the Immigration Rules, overseas nationals living in the United Kingdom as au pairs live as part of the family. The recommended weekly allowance is kept under review.
