HC Deb 15 February 1999 vol 325 c554W
Mr. Maclean

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security what estimate he has made of the number of individuals who will be affected by the abolition of the employee entry rate in national insurance contributions; and what will be the average cost per individual. [70689]

Mr. Timms

Some 20 million people will pay an average of nearly £70 a year less in National Insurance contributions as a result of the abolition of the employee entry fee in April 1999.
