1 Excluding those who gained employment or had taken up education or training or had worked with the voluntary sector or Environment Task Force.
2 LEC areas correspond to New Deal units of delivery except for the area covered by Lothian and Edinburgh Enterprise Limited which is split into 2 New Deal delivery units: Edinburgh, East and Mid Lothian, and West Lothian.
3 Other known destinations include: starting on training programme outwith the New Deal; moving into full-time education; moving abroad; and entering prison.
4 Some young people who find a job will not, for whatever reason, record this as the reason for termination of their JSA claim these will be counted as 'Not Known'. Past research shows that the destinations of those who do not give a reason for termination follows a similar pattern to those who do give a reason more than half of whom move to unsubsidised jobs. As more data are added the numbers in this category may be revised downwards for recent months.
