To ask the Prime Minister what discussions has he had with the German Government on the recent British/French St. Malo declaration; and if he will make a statement. [69924]

§ The Prime Minister
Since St. Malo I have had discussions with a number of European colleagues, including the German Chancellor, on European defence. French and British officials have also discussed with the German EU/WEU Presidency how best to take the issue forward in the run up to the WEU Ministerial at Bremen (10–11 May) and the European Council at Cologne (4 June).
