§ Mr. FatchettThe situation in Tibet is a matter of great concern. It is being addressed through our continuing bilateral and EU human rights dialogues with China. When my right hon. Friend the Foreign Secretary visited China in January, he encouraged Chinese leaders to enter into talks with the Dalai Lama in order to seek a lasting solution. He also raised a list of individual human rights cases, which included a number of Tibetans. My right hon. Friend the Prime Minister did the same when he met Chinese leaders earlier this month.
