§ Mr. MilburnThe White Paper "The New NHS: Modern and Dependable" stated that local clinical governance arrangements should engage professionals at ward and clinical level. The consultation document "A First Class Service: Quality in the new NHS" (copies of which are available in the Library) set out in more detail our proposals on clinical governance. Further guidance on clinical governance will be issued later in the year.
