Railtrack is investing £40 million on the North London Lines over the next 3 years, mainly to improve clearances and remove line speed restrictions, of which £2.9m is allocated for electrification work between now and 2001. Railtrack is considering AC electrification for the route between Harringay and Wembley, but electrification east of Harringay is not proposed at present.
