The Director of the Office for National Statistics has been asked to reply to your parliamentary question requesting information about the earnings of employees in Shrewsbury and Atcham. I am replying in his absence.Estimates of the percentage of employees in Shrewsbury and Atcham earning less than the hourly rates you requested are given below. I am unable to provide numbers because appropriate grossing factors for the New Earnings Survey (NES) sample are not available at very detailed levels of disaggregation such as parliamentary constituencies.The latest information, from the New Earnings Survey 1998, is contained in the following table.
