§ Ms Glenda JacksonThe Franchising Director and I have received 216 representations specifically about Northern Spirit's performance on the overall franchise since the General Election.
My right hon. Friend the Deputy Prime Minister has said that the books are open for the renegotiation of franchise agreements, and he would consider any proposals to improve franchising arrangements. He will involve Passenger Transport Executives (PTEs) where they are signatories to the franchise agreement.
