HC Deb 18 November 1998 vol 319 cc617-8W
Mr. John D. Taylor

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if the schedule of dates to fly the Union Flag has been made available to the Roads Service Maintenance Depot, 17 Ballynahonemore Road, Armagh City; if the Union Flag was flown at the Depot on Remembrance Sunday; and if she will make a statement. [59383]

Mr. Paul Murphy

Responsibility for the subject in question has been delegated to the Roads Service under its chief executive, Mr. W. J. McCoubrey. I have asked him to arrange for a reply to be given.

Letter from W. J. McCoubrey to Mr. John D. Taylor, dated 17 November 1998: The Secretary of State for Northern Ireland has asked me to respond to your recently tabled PQ about the flying of the Union Flag at the Roads Service maintenance depot at 17 Ballynahonemore Road, Armagh. The Roads Service maintenance depot at 17 Ballynahonemore Road, Armagh, has been provided with a schedule of dates on which the Union Flag should be flown. However due to an oversight the flag was not flown on Remembrance Sunday, 8 November 1998 at this location. I apologise for any offence this may have caused.
