§ Ms JowellThe Department is currently funding three projects into links between radiation and genetic damage and genomic instability within its Radiological Protection Research Programme. The projects are being carried out at the Paterson Institute at the University of Manchester, the Beatson Laboratories in Glasgow and the Medical Research Council Radiation and Genomic Instability Unit in Oxfordshire. The Department is aware that other relevant work is being undertaken by the National Radiological Protection Board, the Medical Research Council, the Cancer Research Campaign and the United Kingdom Co-ordinating Committee on Cancer Research.
