HC Deb 18 November 1998 vol 319 c699W
Dr. Brand

To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will make a statement on private prescriptions issued by NHS general practitioners for their NHS residential patients where the cost of medication is lower than the registered prescription charge. [60035]

Mr. Milburn

National Health Service general practitioners might be acting in breach of paragraph 43 of their terms of service if they do not write NHS prescriptions for their NHS patients, except where the drug is included in Schedule 10 or 11 of the NHS (General Medical Services) Regulations 1992.
