§ Mr. Tony LloydWe are playing a leading role in helping to promote lasting peace, democracy and prosperity in Sierra Leone. Britain is hosting the first meeting of the Sierra Leone Contract Group on 5 November. The meeting is intended to boost the efforts of the International community to build peace and reconciliation in Sierra Leone. Britain is also helping to resolve conflict by supporting the disarmament and reintegration of ex-combatants, through a £6.5 million pledge from the Department for International Development.
