To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what was the income for hill farmers in Wales as(a) a total and (b) an average per farmer in 1997–98; and what are the predictions for income in the current financial year. [58014]

Estimates of hill farm incomes will be pubished by the department on November 30, with accompanying statistical tables placed in the library of the House.
