To ask the Secretary of State for Health how many nursing homes have been operational in each health authority in each of the last three years. [57632]

Information on the number of independent nursing homes registered with each health authority as at 31 March for the years 1995, 1996 and 1997 is provided in the table. Information as at March 1998 is not yet available centrally.
