§ Mr. McLeishThere have been two letters of representation following my right hon. Friend's announcement on 22 April to embark on a period of consultation and information gathering on whether the present eight Forces are the correct basis for the structure of the police service in Scotland as we approach the new millennium. It will then be for the Scottish Parliament to decide on whether any change is required.
