To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what performance targets have been set for the Ordnance Survey of Northern Ireland in 1998–99. [42905]

For 1998–99, the following performance targets have been set for Ordnance Survey of Northern Ireland:

Output

  1. 1. To complete the digital conversation programme by 1999–2000 financial year by converting 1,740 large scale map sheets to digital format.
  2. 2. To survey 65,000 new survey units.
  3. 3. To update the digital topographic database with 26,000 survey units of change.

Quality of Service 4. To despatch within 7 working days 96% of customers orders for small and large scale basic format maps.

Efficiency 5. To reduce unit costs so that the weighted mean percentage reduction of selected representative activities is 2%.

Financial 6. To recover from the sale of goods and services 35% of the total costs incurred by the Agency.
