§ Baroness Symons of Vernham DeanThe UK supports the Pope's appeal and, as EU Presidency, co-ordinated an EU declaration on the release of prisoners, calling for the liberation back into society of all those imprisoned for the peaceful expression of their political views. This declaration was delivered to the Cuban authorities. We await a formal response.
