§ Mr. Boateng[holding answer 20 March 1998]: In 1996, there were 6.4 deaths of children aged under age 1 per 1,000 live births in Greater London as compared to 6.1 in the United Kingdom. The Green Paper, Our Healthier Nation, sets out our proposals for tackling these inequalities in health which will be informed by the independent inquiry into inequalities in health, led by Sir Donald Acheson.
